The gardens surrounding the south side of the Calvin Jones House are beautiful every season of the year, but never more so than late spring when the colorful hues of blooming salvia, daisies, phlox, and catmint blend to create the perfect perennial border for a traditional country home.
Daylilies add a splash of yellow to the cooler  perennials lining the brick walk leading to the front steps of the Calvin Jones house and across the north side of the lawn.

It's all the work of Hugh Nourse, a  Master Gardener and volunteer groundskeeper, who has diligently preserved the beauty and integrity of the historic property's natural landscape.
Members of the Wake Forest Garden Club made it their mission to preserve the historic Calvin Jones House, moving it to the old college athletic field on North Main Street and designing plans to surround it with trees, flowers, and shrubs.

Thanks to their hard work and vision, the home and its gardens remain a vital part of Wake Forest history the entire community can enjoy.
